About Us

The Mid North Coast Machinery Restoration Club came into being on 19th June 1994, after a get together of about 80 interested people a month before at Mal and Colleen Cameron’s property.

Since those early days, the club has moved on from strength to strength, from attending other clubs’ rallies to running our own “Rusty Iron Rally”; we moved from “Timbertown” at Wauchope, to the larger Macksville Showground in 2002.

We encourage family membership, with ladies and juniors regularly taking part in our activities. We encourage all our members to follow our motto of      “Promoting help and friendship among fellow restorers”. If you are having problems getting your engine running sweetly, then just ask the members; we are mostly blokes, so you will be sure to get a dozen fixes……some might even work !

Current memberships exceed 260, either individuals or families, and each month we send out our club newsletter “The Flywheel” to each, by either e-mail or post.

We usually meet on the second Sunday of each month (except December), at our “Mal Cameron Shed” in the Macksville Showground. Many members arrive during the morning to chat over a cuppa, show off their latest treasure, or to do some work on the club’s equipment and engines. After a BYO lunch, we settle down to the more formal meeting at 12-30pm; although you will find us a fairly casual and laid back bunch.
